Have you ever talked to a tree?   Seriously.   (Not like in the graphics attached).

I do mean, walking up to a tree and wrapping your arms around it and asking it a question.  This may seem way too crazy for you – if it does, then maybe this blog is not for you.

However, if the title – Talk to a Tree – grabbed your attention then keep following, cuz your life could be about to change.

Understanding Energy

Energy flows through us, all around us, it surrounds us.  Each and every animate and inanimate object on our planet has energy in it.   If you take the time to slow down, stop and listen to the flow of energy, then you will come back into the present and be mindful; you can start to make changes to your life.

In this moment, this precise moment, everything is exactly where it is supposed to be – you are exactly where you are supposed to be.  If you don’t like where you are, there are tools and techniques that you can start to learn to help you create the next moment exactly the way you would like it to be.

Create your perfect world

First, what I would like you to do is to take the next 5 minutes and imagine your perfect day.  (Ideally you will take a lot longer than that, and you write down what the perfect day looks like, putting as much detail onto the page as possible.)  Imagine what you feel like at the end of the perfect day.  What emotions would stand out for you the most?  Joy?  Happiness? Peace? Satisfaction?

Now, choose one image from that perfect day that stands out for you the most.

I have a whole day planned out, from the moment I wake up in the morning until the end of the day lying in bed – in Rome, Italy, after speaking at a conference, lying beside – never mind the rest.  I feel joy, I feel pride, I feel excitement that we have come so far.  The image that stands out for me the most is waking up, sitting up and looking out the floor to ceiling windows in my bedroom and seeing the ocean.

Next, combine that image with your emotions and spend 2 – 3 minutes, 3 – 4 times a day, coming back to vision.  Thoughts become actions; your subconscious is going to begin to move you towards creating this world you have created in your mind.  Energy starts to move you towards this direction, creating the world that you have imagined.

Other tools you need

This exercise will begin to change your life.  Of course, there is more to creating a whole new world for yourself then this – becoming more aware of your physical body and what it is telling you, listening to your thoughts to let go of negative thoughts, learning to recognize and understand your emotions and your emotional triggers, learning to love yourself.  But, change starts with small steps.

So, the next time you are out for a walk in the woods, your backyard, wherever there are trees (it is easier if they are larger, try hugging a 3 inch in diameter tree), wrap yourself around the tree, or place your back up against it.  Stay there for 5 minutes, meditating with the tree.  Feel the strength and power of the energy flowing through the tree.   Ask a question.   Wait for the answer.
